VRAK - Aktie Vredesbelasting
is an organization that supports war tax resisters and peace tax campaigners in Flandern (the Dutch speaking part of Belgium).
Goals and activities:
- lobbying for legislation in the national parliament: recognition of conscientious objection to paying taxes for military purposes and creation of a Peace Tax Fund;
- support war tax resisters by street actions, legal and financial support;
- conscientization of the public about war tax resistance and peace tax campaign through the newsletter VRAK-info, leafletting, our presence with stand 'how to spend tax money?' at peace and other grass root meetings, coverage of (court) actions by press;
- obtain support from big and small (grass roots) organizations;
- collaboration with our French speaking sister organization Contribuables pour la Paix;
- support civil forms of conflict resolution;
- support Conscience and Peace Tax International (CPTI); support other regional, national, and international (peace) actions;
